This place is a gem! My friend and I stumbled upon the cantina when we went for a drink after dinner at Casa Sena. We walked in expecting a normal bar: little did we know, this is no normal bar! We sat down with drinks and suddenly our waitress walked up next to the piano. The lights dimmed, and she began singing the most beautiful broadway number. My friend and I looked at each other in excited amazement, we couldn't believe it! We were in for a night full of fun performances, and our plan to stay for one drink turned into staying for several hours, and returning again the next night. This is a truly unique place, if you enjoy live music you must check it out!

My husband and I first visited this bar about 20 years ago. It was thriving and oh so fun! We were really looking forward to returning on our recent trip to Sante Fe. We were surprised to see only a few tables occupied on a Friday Night, but we were still hopeful. We felt a bit rushed when ordering drinks and desert only even though we declared that when we asked for a table. Our drinks were good, although my husband ordered an ice wine and they were out. The dessert was fabulous. But honestly, we came here for the singing waiters and the piano playing. We were not disappointed. Our server, who had been a bit short and seemed in a hurry, honored our request at the end of the evening (9pm on a Friday Night?) with a literal show stopper from Anything Goes... including the tap routine. We left with smiles on our faces. Would I go back? YES!

Awesome! The singers are incredibly talented and fun! They sing every night of the year from about 6-9 p.m. or 6-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays! Order for apps: the goat cheese the muscles For dinner: the enchilada the green chile cheese burger the hanger steak the scallops the salmon

Definitely 5 (can I give 6) stars for the entertainment by a skilled pianist and the waiting staff turning out to be singers even more than waiting tag. The food would till be 4 stars considering the variety of home prepared well tasting menu options and so many gluten free and child free options. Don't forget to Ask for their cd!

My husband was beyond skeptical about having dinner here but loved it after we got there. The food was very good; he ordered the scallops, which were delicious and I ordered the salmon, it was good, not great. The singers were excellent and the piano player was fabulous. We will definitely be back on our next visit.

The verdant plazuela setting is nice, but my food was just average. The yellow corn chips tasted commercial, and the guacamole was forgettable. We were also served the Pico de Gallo for $4 more, which we didn't order. The chicken on ciabatta was bland as was the bread. Service was spotty. I remember this place having been better in the past.

If their Aztec Dusted Salmon doesn't already get your tail wagging (and by golly, I hope it will!), then please stop by for their awesome live singers, jazz pianist and (of course) delish cocktails! The talented vocal performance of Cristianne blew my socks off. Especially cool that the singers ARE the waiters -- they come up and talk to you! You will be grinning for the rest of the night.

We were lucky to find this small gem, not knowing that it had great food and wait staff singing really well throughout the evening with the pianist accompaniment. A great time. Excellent mushroom tamale appetizer.

Music great. Bar ok, but definely not what you would expect from an upscale restaurant. Food decidedly mediocre. Glad we did not go for the set price menu. There are lots of choices in this price range in Santa Fe. I cannot recommend this in its price range.

Hidden gem, great food lunch and dinner. Nicely surprised by staff singing during dinner!

Visiting Santa Fe and had a street recommendation to la cantina. We found it to be entertaining for our 3 kids and a very good meal, with a twist (elk burger, Italian venison sausage) for my pseudo foodie wife and I.

It's always refreshing to know that you can step out of the norm and come have live music with your dinner! Many times my family and I have eaten here...loving each and every one of those times! The memories that come with the music provided by your waiters and waitresses are lasting. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere puts you inside your favorite musical. I enjoy this place and would eat here all the time provided the money and time.

First time here. Visiting from CA and read the reviews so we had to try. The cocktails were delicious and strong. We tried the Caipirinha, margarita, and the Manhattan infused with bacon. The Caesar salad had very light dressing but it was good. The seafood sampler was a I light meal and was like a sushi dish. It was delicious. The vegetables with guacamole was also good but I would have preferred it spicier. I would return.

Im with M.O. review. Every town should have one of these. A cool little place you go to let your hair down, sing along with the group and performers, laugh, talk and share the fun. The only reason its not a 5 was the food was good, not fab. Not to take away from that, the waiters and waitresses were great, attentive despite singing every 15 minutes and the piano player makes the whole place sing. Say hi to Bob. Get the little table next to the piano or the set that rings the stage for the best seats. You can tell regulars come here which gives it that warm fuzzy feeling. The wine list was fab because its connected to the wine store. The enter-waiters were comical, interacting and delightful. The place will put a smile on you face so that makes up for just good food. I had the ribeye special. Good, not great. But everything else had a medicinal effect on your happiness and you can't pay for that. The cover in NYC would be $20 minimum and $40 on weekends. Do it because its fun, loosen the tie and sing, maybe they'll even let you take the stage. Know any show tunes?

Absolutely horrible. Sat us next to a table full of drunk Hispanics. The staff didn't know how to handle. We couldn't see the show. We left. They told us they "86'd" the drunk people, but they didn't. So not only are they inexperienced, very expensive and inept, they're untruthful. They're poor street actors trying to start a restaurant. Paying your kids for entertainment over dinner at home would be better.

We enjoyed some after-dinner drinks at La Casa Sena's Cantina, and were pleasantly surprised by the fantastic entertainment! The piano music was lovely, and then adding on top of that the servers' performances - holy crap. How fun. I wish we could have stayed longer.

The giant and I went to La Cantina for Valentine's dinner last night. So. Much. Fun. and the Food was covered in Awesomesauce. We had the prix fixe - duck confit crepes for a starter, he had the fillet cooked to a perfect rare (not bloody) and I had the seafood stew which was was surprisingly very full of very fresh seafood. He had the the truffle flight for dessert while I went for the lavender infused chocolate mousse. The truffles were rich and chocolaty, pretty yummy but enough to share. The mousse was wonderful, not too over the top with the lavendar. But again enough for two. The wait staff take turns belting out show tunes (for lack of better descriptor.). Sometimes they sing entire librettos from Cats, or Wicked. Last night they chose different love-themed songs such as "Black Magic," "The Girl from Ipanema," and "New York, New York." Bob The Piano Man is really great, the singing was fantastic fun and the service was okay (a little slow, but hey it was a super busy night.) I would definitely go again but maybe on a Wednesday night.

La Cantina is not the same restaurant as La Casa Sena. The two restaurants share a web site and are adjacent to each other but are not the same. La Cantina has live entertainment. The waiters and waitresses take periodic breaks to sing show tunes. It was loads of fun; even more fun than I expected. Two waitresses acted out Popular from the musical Wicked and even though my 10-year-old daughter hadn't seen the musical, she still enjoyed the acting. The food and desserts were also excellent. One would think the service would be slow but the performers covered each others' tables during performances so there really weren't any significant delays. I highly recommend La Cantina. It was a unique experience. Arrive early and eat slowly so you can see as many performances as possible.

I'm a little torn about my rating. I'd give the food 3 stars, but the entertainment was definitely worth 4. We went during the week and were told we probably wouldn't need reservations. Not so! Luckily, we got there early and they had a table next to the grand piano that they offered us. It was fine - not too loud during the performances. The singing is not constant so you have the opportunity for conversation. I would have preferred selections from some of the classic musicals of the 30's-50's, but it was fine and the audience was definitely into it. I thought the food was over-priced and rather flavorless. We started with chips and a trio of salsas. We got plenty of chips, but all the salsas were a little blah. I tasted no red chile on my red chile-dusted pork, but it was well-cooked and an ample serving. So if you're into show tunes, this is a nice spot. Hopefully you'll have better luck with your food choices.
